Day 1 Sun: Depart North America
Depart North America on your exciting journey to begin your India Wildlife
adventure. Day rooms are provided in Singapore at the AMBASSADOR TRANSIT
HOTEL. East Coast passengers connect through London.
Day 2 Mon: Arrive Delhi
Arrive tonight in India’s bustling capital city of Delhi, where you are
greeted with a traditional Indian welcome and escorted to the TAJ MAHAL
HOTEL (Deluxe Room).
Day 3 Tue: Delhi Sightseeing
After a leisurely morning, drive along Rajpath, New Delhi’s broadest
avenue, to view the Parliament House, the President’s House and India
Gate. Visit the Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar, Birla Mandir, the Red Fort,
Ashoka Pillar, the mile-long Chandni Chowk bazaar and Raj Ghat, the
Mahatma Gandhi memorial. This evening, a festive welcome dinner is held in
your honor, with a presentation of Indian music and dance. (BLD)
Day 4 Wed: Delhi / Ranthambhore
An early morning train ride takes you on an exciting journey through the
countryside to Ranthambhore, where the remains of a thousand-year-old
fortress have been reclaimed by nature. Today, it is a wildlife sanctuary,
where leopards and tigers prowl the ruins. Stay at TAJ SAWAI MADHOPUR
LODGE (Standard Room), built by the local Maharajah to entertain the

Day 5 Thu: Ranthambhore Game
Reserve
Ranthambhore is one of the few preserves where the nocturnal camera-shy
tigers may be seen in daylight. You’ll enjoy thrilling game drives in the
morning and evening in search of wildlife.
Day 6 Fri: Ranthambhore / Jaipur
After a morning game drive, leave for the “pink city” of Jaipur, where the
old city is surrounded by a massive wall pierced by magnificent gates.
Your tour of Jaipur takes you to Hawa Mahal or “Palace of Winds,”
continues to City Palace—characterized by balconies, tiny windows,
cupolas, courtyards and arched entrances—and then onto the ancient

Day 7 Sat: Amber Fort / Keoladeo
Bird Sanctuary, Bharatpur
Today you are transported back in time, riding royally atop decorated and
painted elephants up to the mountain fortress of Amber, a spectacular
masterpiece of Rajput architecture protecting a complex of palaces,
temples, exquisite marble and mirror-inlaid halls and apartments. Continue
your drive to the Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary in Bharatpur, home to over 350
species of birds. Walk along the beautiful trails in the sanctuary lined

Day 8 Sun: Bharatpur / Fatehpur
Sikri / Agra
Rise early to visit the park and enjoy either a pedicab or boat ride
(water levels permitting), with the opportunity to see the many species of
birds, flocks of ducks, widgeons, herons and spoonbills in graceful
flight. After a lunch at the lodge, continue your drive to Agra, the last
capital of the Mughal Empire in India, stopping en route at the ancient
city of Fatehpur Sikri, a masterpiece of Mughal architecture. Upon arrival
in Agra, explore the 16th century Agra Fort with its battlements,
apartments, gardens and the audience halls. Enjoy an extended visit to the
magnificent Taj Mahal and witness the transformation as the monument

Day 9 Mon: Agra / Jhansi /
Khajuraho
This morning experience a train ride to Jhansi. Continue by road to
Khajuraho, en route visiting Orchha, a medieval city frozen in time and
space, existing to this day as it must have in the 17th century. TAJ

Day 10 Tue: Khajuraho /
Bandhavgarh National Park
This morning, visit the Western & Eastern group of Temples followed by a
drive in the hills of the Vindhyan Ranges to Bandhavgarh National Park,
home of the white tiger and other species such as Indian bison, sambar
deer, barking deer and blue bull. Spend two days of game viewing and

Day 12 Thu: Kanha National Park
After a morning game drive in Bandhavgarh, travel to Kanha, the original
country Rudyard Kipling so vividly described in The Jungle Book. Kanha has
some 22 species of mammals: most commonly spotted are langur, jackal, wild
pig, spotted deer, swamp deer, sambar and black buck. You may also see
tiger, Indian hare, wild dog, barking deer, Indian fox, sloth bear,
striped hyena, panther, mouse deer, Indian bison, jungle cat, four horned
antelope, blue bull, ratel and Indian porcupine. Kanha also has some 200
species of birds. Spend two days game viewing and bird watching in Kanha,

Today, after your last Game Drive, drive to Nagpur, India’s geographical

Fly this morning to Mumbai (formerly Bombay), the most cosmopolitan city
of India. You will be provided a day room at the TAJ LANDS END (Superior
Room). After a day at leisure, depart India late this evening for your

America
Arrive home today, filled with memories of your wildlife adventure.
